Kumasi, Ghana

Tens of thousands of Ghanaians now call the Bronx home, a significant number of them from Kumasi, the country’s second-largest city and the capital of its Ashanti region.

Numerous organizations based in the Bronx represent Ashanti people, and the Twi language spoken in Kumasi serves as a lingua franca both in Ghana and in the Ghanaian community of New York.
