San Francisco de Tetlanohcan, Mexico

Several thousand people in and around New Haven are estimated to trace their roots to the town of San Francisco de Tetlanohcan in Mexico’s Tlaxcala state. Large numbers came in the 1990s and 2000s to a number of places in the US, including Brooklyn, but the New Haven community has remained one of the largest and most organized, and many in New Haven remain closely tied to and involved with San Francisco de Tetlanohcan.
